The nonprofit

Open Food Facts is an open food database comparable to a “Wikipedia of food products”. It aims to inform and raise awareness among consumers about their food and its impact on health and the environment. The nonprofit plays a crucial role in providing essential data to citizens, the state, food producers, and scientists regarding environmental, public health, and societal issues related to food.

The tech project

Share it managed the redesign of the Open Food Facts mobile application initially developed in Flutter by volunteers and teams from Google. The main objective of this redesign is to finalize the application by correcting existing bugs, to make it more accessible to everyone and to conduct comprehensive user tests. This new version of the application aims to extend its reach and improve the communication of nutritional information to users.
