You may already know it: skills sponsorship is our thing.
At Share it we advocate every day for as many organizations as possible to use its potential (and its HR, CSR or fiscal advantages).
For that we like to share with you the best practices and the greatest successes of skills sponsorship during the event that brings together CSR and HR decision-makers from the main tech players in France: Good Morning Impact.
Last March we wanted to talk about skills sponsorship as a lever of commitment for employees in ESNs ; and these are the employees of our partners Wavestone, Accenture France and Meericats Consulting who agreed to share their experience.

The projects of the non-profits that Share it supports offer a unique opportunity to develop its technical skills as well as its transversal skills (adaptability, autonomy, listening, etc.), while allowing one to feel useful for society.
Oumar who is an IT project manager at Accenture and currently on a mission with Share it, testifies:”I was able to highlight my soft and hard skills, I donate to non-profits but I also recover a lot with apprenticeships.
“Being in the middle of the Share it ecosystem is very rich. By talking to Intech, I know how to draw an architecture diagram, by working with Suricats Consulting, I am learning how to conduct a user interview, etc.” adds Ydir, Wavestone consultant and former skills sponsorship consultant at Share it for 1 year.
No fuss, only concrete: as for invoiced missions, skills sponsorship missions present stimulating challenges that encourage the use of creativity. The end of a skills sponsorship mission is synonymous with learning and can easily be highlighted in the career path.
“There is no difference in terms of requirements for a sponsorship mission, and it is just as rewarding” shares Ines, a consultant at Wavestone, who has been working at Share it for more than 6 months.
These new learnings are also useful directly our partners, who see their talents develop and thrive longer in their organization through new roles.
"Share it projects allowed me to discover a lot of tools that we are not used to seeing with our CAC40 customers. I was able to bring this knowledge to Wavestone for our customers since no code is gaining momentum. It allows me to develop a Business cap too, pre-sales with this specialization.” - Yeah.

The experience of Meericats Consulting (consulting firm with around 50 employees) demonstrates that skills sponsorship is not just for big businesses.
Around a third of employees plan to stay with the company longer after participating in a skills sponsorship mission at Share it. Sophie Corbel, expert in strategy and transformation with a positive impact at Suricats Consulting, confirms and insists on the double advantage “in recruitment and [as] a way to retain employees.”
This double benefit is the same regardless of the size of the organization.. Inès recalls that”for the younger generations, it is a desire to work on this type of subject [with a positive impact]. It is a real differentiating factor for a firm to offer it. When choosing between 2 companies, I would rather go to the one that offers them!”

Skill sponsorship represents much more than a simple philanthropic approach. It is a win-win-win bet for employees, businesses, and non-profits. So get involved with Share it for a long-term and quality sponsorship of skills. Any questions? lucie, our director of partnerships, will be able to answer it! (l.bouttier@share-it.io)
