Ma Petite Planète

MPP: reconciling impact and fun

On the general public and corporate side, here’s the MPP pitch:
An ecological competition where two teams within a league (friends, colleagues, family) compete for three weeks to complete as many eco-challenges as possible.

During these three weeks, everyone tries to earn as many points as possible by completing ecological challenges from among nearly 100 available.
By validating challenges, you advance your team—and your league—in the overall ranking!

The gamification of ecological actions, combined with the power of collective motivation, helps accelerate the shift toward more eco-responsible habits, all while having fun with the people around you.

The latest edition brought together more than 1,000 leagues, nearly 20,000 participants, and close to 300,000 challenges completed—a success that grows with every edition.

Perhaps you’ve already heard of it?
(Or maybe you even took part and reached the title of “Grand Zizou of Ecology”?)

MPP School: the same spirit, adapted for students

On the school side, the principle remains the same. The types of challenges, however, are adapted to each age group, and the game is structured around a true educational project within the school.

The teacher creates a league (usually 1 league = 1 class). This league is made up of one or more teams that compete to complete challenges. A fun, playful activity—perfect for bringing students together around a shared goal and raising awareness of eco-friendly habits.

As Shadid, age 8, puts it:
“I had a lot of fun because it helped me get closer to Nature.”

Some impressive figures from Ma Petite Planète, and counting!

Making the game easier at school

A year after the creation of Ma Petite Planète, Clément came knocking at the Share It door.

(In fact we don't have a door, but you get the idea*).

After targeting the general public, he wanted to address the new generation more effectively: students, middle and high school students.

The problem? Until now, teachers managed the game on Excel files and had to navigate through lots of rows and columns to capture the points of their students' challenges.

So the objective was to develop an application to allow each teacher to be autonomous in managing the challenges of their class, in terms of the number of people or the challenges to be achieved.

That's where it came in Share it, to provide its expertise and that of the technical partners requested, in order to build with MPP the best digital tool to respond to these problems.

Thanks to this new application, it is now easier for teachers to managing the challenges of their students. This allows them to play with their class in a simple and fun way.

By making it easier to set up the challenge with the new app, it also multiplies the number of participants within institutions.

Speaking of Clement (Monsieur Debosque for the less intimate), and if we gave him the floor to talk about Ma Petite Planète and this project! (Spoiler alert, we're also talking a bit about the end of this article, but we still have surprises in store for you).

Concretely, how does support with Share it work?

Alright… but what does that actually mean?

To help nonprofits and social entrepreneurs grow through digital projects that can multiply their impact, Share it engages long-term skills-based volunteering teams from consulting firms and Digital Services Companies (DSCs).

The Ma Petite Planète École project was designed, developed, and deployed in 10 months and required more than 200 person-days of work.

This project mobilized three types of stakeholders:

Skills-based volunteering teams, which included:

- A digital project manager (Wavestone)
- Developers
(Octo, Accenture)
- UX/UI designers
(Wavestone and Smile)

To complement the expertise needed, additional qualified volunteers from Malt and Theodo contributed at key moments.

The nonprofit’s internal team. On the Ma Petite Planète side, the project was managed by Product Owners (product managers), responsible for operational follow-up and long-term continuity of the solution, along with project managers — and of course, Clément, the co-founder.

The Share it team included

- A Delivery Manager (Julie Kieffer) — the project’s conductor and main support contact for the nonprofit. She oversaw high-level project management and coordinated all stakeholders.
- A mentor, serial entrepreneur and business angel (Cédric Sellin), who provided in-depth strategic and technical guidance throughout the digital project.

All these teams worked hand in hand to build the optimal digital solution to meet MPP’s needs and those of its users.

The application was developed using Flutter, an open-source user interface development kit created by Google.

And to put a name and a face on this great team:

For Clément Debosque, founder of Ma Petite Planète:

“Share it for us was the assurance of giving ourselves all the means to make the right technical choices. This allowed us to move forward much more quickly in deploying our challenge.”

(If you followed up, this sentence was taken from the interview in the video above. If you haven't seen it yet now is the time!)

Beyond the project teams, this project could not have been developed without the commitment of partners in skills sponsorship Octo, Wavestone, Accenture, Smile, Smile, Malt and Theodo as well as financial partners Accenture and The Song of the Stars.

My Little Planet, what's next?

Ma Petite Planète is already 18 editions, 133,380 players and 1,940,000 bonus challenges for the planet.

The objective is clear: to have brought several million Ma Petite Planète Players into action in Europe by the end of 2024.

Over the long term, Ma Petite Planète wants become the reference challenge in France and then in Europe on the transition to ecological action, both for the general public and for businesses.

Even if it means projecting yourself, why not a partnership with National Education, with Ma Petite Planète offered as a module as part of several courses from kindergarten to high school?
